Gold Mine Misc.

  • The Gold Mine is a 5x5 square building.
  • Maximum of 6 Gold Mines.

A Gold Mine upgrade has a payback cost in the sense that you spend Gold and Crystal as well as time (while it is upgrading, it is not making Gold). Furthermore, building a Gold Mine has similar invested costs. We calculate the TrueCost of a Gold Mine build/upgrade by taking its Gold cost + its Crystal cost (multiply by 5 for Crystal to Gold value ratio) + its downtime Gold cost. Example: Upgrading a level 1 mine is GoldCost(3,000)+CrystalCost(600x5=3,000)+TimeCost(450) = TrueCost(6,450). Therefore the first upgrade has a Gold cost to you of 6,450. Then assuming you can use a Gold Mine non-stop at 1 hour sets(highly unlikely), your increased Gold revenue produced is 40 per hour. So in order to be paid back the cost to you, it will take 161 hours of peak mining or 6.7 days of non stop hourly mining. The following chart breaks down the TrueCost and Hours needed for all level of upgrades:

Upgrade Level Gold Cost in Gold Crystal Cost in Gold Time Cost in Gold Total Cost in Gold Gold Increase Peak Hour Peak Break Even Hours
1 6,000 4,000 0 10,000 300 34 Hours or 1.4 Days
2 3,000 3,000 450 6,450 40 161 Hours or 6.7 Days
3 5,000 5,000 1,020 11,020 40 276 Hours or 11.5 Days
4 8,000 8,000 1,710 17,710 40 443 Hours or 18.5 Days
5 12,000 12,000 2,510 26,510 40 663 Hours or 27.6 Days

These are peak hours for paying back the TrueCost. Anything less than 1 hour mining cycles causes the payback for a mine or upgrades to be even more severe. It should be noted that the mines will payback upgrades and costs concurrently. In otherwords, if you make 2 Upgrades at the same time, both upgrades are being paid back at the same time. So if a level 30 player built a Mine and upgraded it straight to level 5, it would be paid off completely in a total of 27.6 days of non-stop 1 hour mining. As a general average, based on typical power mining (1 hour reps for most of a day + 9 hour rep while player sleeps) the Building of a Mine takes 2 days before it is paid back, Upgrade to level 2 takes 1 week, Upgrade to level 3 takes 2 weeks, Upgrade to level 4 takes 4 weeks and Upgrade to level 5 takes 6 weeks. A casual player, who 1 hour reps while playing, does a 9 hour rep while working and a 9 hour rep while sleeping can expect an additional 1-2 weeks across the board respectively.
